Prior to beginning Horizon Hospitality in 1998, Scott held senior management and executive-level positions with hospitality industry leaders such as ClubCorp, Hilton Hotels, The Levy Restaurants, and Dean & Deluca. Scott is a graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Stout where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management. He also attended the University of Paris and the Culinary Institute of America.

Scott began his career at the historic 1800-room Palmer House Hilton in Chicago and eventually moved to the 2200-room San Francisco Hilton to oversee their $25+ million food & beverage department. During his tenure with The Levy Restaurant Group, Scott opened two restaurants on Pleasure Island at Disney World and was instrumental in the re-opening and concept development of the food and beverage operations at the one-billion-dollar McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago. Scott opened Dean & Deluca’s prototype retail/food concept in Kansas City and was an integral part of its concept development and design. While with ClubCorp, he served as General Manager at several different City Clubs and Country Clubs.

Scott has proudly served as a Board Member of the following organizations:

  • Missouri and Kansas Search/Staffing Association
  • The Dream Factory – a charity for children experiencing life-threatening illnesses
  • University of Kansas Hillel
  • All in for Skin – a charity benefiting the fight against Melanoma Cancer

Scott has been recognized by Kansas City’s top business publication, Ingram’s Magazine, as one of the top business executives in Kansas City. He has been a featured author in the Wall Street Journal and many other prominent hospitality trade publications.

Originally from the Chicago area, Scott lived in Overland Park, Kansas for the past 23 years before relocating to Boca Raton in May of 2021. Scott and his wife, Maddy, have three adult children. He enjoys spending his free time boating, snow skiing, playing pickleball, traveling, and walking his three King Charles Cavaliers.
